We all need traffic to our websites, and preferably that of the organic variety. (i.e Traffic derived from users searching on the search engines ) Some of us knowthat the majority of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) activities take some time to take affect. Here are 5 SEO ResourcesSEO Resources items to work on quickly, so you can start seeing (at least) a small growth in the site traffic.

Getting Organic TrafficSEO Derived traffic can be complex and enduring, and it’s influenced by some different factors, including:

* The existing optimization of your website
* The age of your domain and,
* Your ability in working with these

There are ways however, to get SEO results that you can begin now that will make a big improvement.

1. Keyword Basics:

Do your research – this is of most importance.

Services and free tools at you disposal such as the Google external keyword tool (search for this on google it will shoot straight up). Once you’re up to speed with that move into the paid (more advanced) programs and tools out there. Keyword density is a thing of the past, there is no density you should be aiming for. A natural inclusion of your targeted keywords is today’s emphasis, working them in wherever possible without being synthtetic or excessive.

Hint: The fastest results can be made by targeting a bigger number of keywords than have a lower level of competition.

2. Use only The Best URLS:
There are many steps that go into building the best URLs. Start from selecting a domain name that is memorable, short and includes your main keyword. Whilst hyphens are acceptable, remember though anymore than two starts to get spam-like and excessive.

For your individual page name(s), include a relevant term, so that each URL looks something like;
“www.your-keyword.com/targeted-page-keyword.html” When possible, avoid using dynamic page variables such as session IDs.

These add a lot of unnecessary junk to your page URLs.

Hint: If you already have a site and can’t adjust the page structure to use your terms in it’s URLs, then you may want to consider buying additional domains (to create mini sites) that support various areas within your niche. These mini sites will drive traffic to your main website.

3. Look for Long Tail Terms:

Long tail terms are often the secret to great search engine rankings. Long tail keywords include at least three terms or more, and when you find the ones pertaining to your niche you will be facing reduced competition. Additionally, the resulting traffic you’ll create as a result will be much more targeted, andit follows that you’ll see better results.

Hint: It will help to add long(er) tail keywords toyour URL’s as well (ref #2). Doing a quick search and you will see that
most “gurus” agree. The buyers are found with the Long Tail words.

4. Intelligent Internal Links:

Websites should always properly use their internal links to their own advantage. It’s an easy way to assist each of your pages gain a targeted and higher search engine ranking. Make sure to include each page’s main targeted keyword or phrase in the internal link, and always be sure to reference your other pages with links within your website’s content as much as possible when appropriate.

E.G: You sell a type of appliance. Be certain that anywhere that your keyword is found on your site that the keyword is linked to the specific appliance page. This will assist the individual product page rank higher in the search engines.

5. Use HTML:
The benefits of various script languages and other code are lost when they aren’t searchable in the search engines. Everything you do you want to be helping your cause of ranking. This means staying with easily accessed HTML for your website(s). Avoid too many forms, frames of any sort, or any code that isn’t searchable.
